Lara Cannon, MA, LPC, at ADHD Child and Family Services is an art therapist and a licensed professional counselor based out of Tigard, Oregon, with a passion for helping children with ADD/ADHD reach their fullest potential. 

Her child-based services are focused on building self-esteem, teaching skills, and discovering strategies that make learning fun. Lara also offers parent-based services that include guidance, support, education, and training. 

She earned her master’s degree in art therapy counseling from Marylhurst University in Marylhurst, Oregon, in 2016. She gained her clinical experience working with children and families in a community mental health agency and in a specialized school for children with lagging social, emotional, and behavioral skills. 

Creating environments for children that support creativity and growth has been an important part of her professional career.  Before earning her master’s degree, Lara helped to form a nonprofit community arts center in Maine, where she served as the executive director for seven years. Lara has training in parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) and play therapy.
