An Evaluation for ADHD Includes the Following

Our adult ADHD assessment process is designed to be thorough, accurate, and  informative, giving you a clear understanding of your strengths, challenges, and next steps.

Your evaluation will include:

• A comprehensive clinical interview exploring your history, daily functioning, and current concerns

• Validated ADHD and mental health questionnaires to provide objective data

• Evidence-based diagnostic tools administered and interpreted by a licensed clinician

• A detailed written report, including a clear diagnostic summary, individualized recommendations, and practical next steps

• Guidance on treatment options, such as therapy, medication management, workplace or school accommodations, and helpful resources

Most adult ADHD evaluations take approximately 2–3 hours to complete.

Cost, Payment & Insurance

Adult ADHD evaluations at ADHD Child & Family Services are offered on a self-pay (cash-pay) basis.

• Evaluations start at $650.

• We do not bill insurance directly for testing.

• We can provide a detailed superbill to submit to your insurance plan for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

• Coverage and reimbursement vary by plan. Contact your insurance provider regarding specific benefits and coverage.

Who Provides the Evaluation?

Evaluations are conducted by our licensed clinical psychologist with specialized training in:

• ADHD and executive functioning in adults

• Differential diagnosis (i.e., distinguishing ADHD from anxiety, depression, trauma, or learning differences)

Is Adult ADHD Testing Right for Me?

• Have long-standing difficulties with focus, organization, time management, or follow-through

• Feel easily overwhelmed, disorganized, or “scattered”

• Struggle with procrastination, forgetfulness, or chronic lateness

• Have been told you are “smart but not living up to your potential”

• Suspect ADHD after seeing your child diagnosed and recognizing similar traits in yourself

Frequently Asked Questions About Adult ADHD Testing

Adult ADHD evaluations are conducted via secure video telehealth meetings, allowing you to participate from home or work. This makes the assessment accessible for adults all across Oregon.

Most evaluations take about 2–3 hours, which may be completed in a single appointment or split into multiple sessions if you prefer.

Our reports are designed to provide the level of detail typically needed to support requests for workplace or academic accommodations. Since each employer and school has its own policies, we cannot guarantee approval.

Yes. With your permission, we can coordinate with your primary care provider, psychiatrist, or therapist to share results and support collaborative treatment planning.

If ADHD is not the primary diagnosis, your evaluation will still provide useful and important information about your strengths, challenges, and other conditions that may be affecting attention or mood. We offer clear recommendations and referrals tailored to your needs.
